WhatsApp POS
Point of sale over chat: shopkeepers take orders, print tickets, and keep a simple catalog from a phone-first backend and web frontend.

Overview
WhatsApp POS is a phone-first till: catalog, orders, and a receipt printer next to a chat thread. Backend and frontend stay small so a shopkeeper can sell without installing a full restaurant suite.
Challenge
Micro-retail already lives in WhatsApp. Forcing a tablet POS for a two-person counter is how software gets ignored.
Solution
Chat-shaped order capture, a simple catalog, and print. Node backend plus React frontend — enough till to take money, not a fake ERP.
What we built
- Chat-first order taking
- Simple catalog for a small counter
- Receipt printer path
- Node API + React frontend
- Phone-sized operator UI
Outcomes
- Selling happens in the app the shop already uses
- No mandatory dine-in floor plan for a kiryana counter
- Print and catalog without a full NTPOS tenant
Stack
